SUMMARY

In  Lesson 10 we have studied the assesment, what it is, the diferent types of assesment and the regulations about it , among other things.

BEFORE AND AFTER STUDYING

Before this lesson, I knew nothing about assessment at schools, but now I've lernt  so many things such as the definitions of assesment

  •  LOGSE 1990 Assessment is understood as a continuous and formative process that addresses quantitative and qualitative aspects, as one of the principles of educational activity, and as a factor of quality
  • LOE (2006), LOMCE (2013). Assessment is a fundamental element for improving education and enhancing the transparency of the education system

The most difficult part of this lesson for me was to understand the students assessment because when I was at school I didn't realized about the methods that my teachers used to evaluate our progress and until nkow I didn't nkow how important is this to improve as a teacher.
Also, according to Burke (1994), Assesment of student learning has traditionally been asigned a secondary role in the teaching- learning process and has been used mainly for grading purposes. I think that we must consider assessment of students as an important way to focus on our students and caring about their learning process. That's why I also agree with the next affirmation:

However, as most educators are aware , the main purpose of assessment in any school system that centers its attention on the learner is the promotion of learning itself (Landry & Robichaud, 1985).

I really want to know more deeply about types of assessments and the individual facts of each one and I hope I'll do it soon.
