LESSON 9
SUMMARY
In this lesson we have lernt about the participation in schools. What the legislation say about it, the different ways of promoting the participation and the different organisations that form part of it.
BEFORE AND AFTER STUDYING
Before studying this lesson I only knew that AMPA was one of the most important governing bodies that were related with the participation of the centre.
Now that I've lernt more about the topic I know that there are some measures to foster the participation of the educational community, such as:
- Planning and promoting the assumption of specific responsibilities by all members of the educational community by Identifying areas of participation of parents in the life of the centre.
- Encouraging school boards to be organitsations with real participation like ensuring that prior information reaches all sectors just in time to be studied
The most difficult part of the lesson was to understand some of the family's rights. The Article 4 of the LODE stablish that parents and guardians have the right to choose a public or private school and to receive religious and moral training in accordance with their own convictions. The point is that only the catholic religion has this type of representation at schools and the other religions are ignored, so, if it is a right why some people can make use of it but some others cannot?
Also, I would like to know more about how schools develope the measures that I've mentioned before, like what kind of activities they do to achieve their objectives.
ARTICLE
This is an article related with religion in schools because it talks about muslim religion in schools in Spain.
